Coping strategies of women with breast cancer
<ns3:p>Breast cancer, alongside lung cancer, is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers worldwide. This review aims to collect and summarize studies that utilize the Mini-MAC scale to assess psychological adjustment to cancer in women diagnosed with breast cancer. Two databases—PubMed and Embase—were searched using specific keywords. Articles were included in the analysis if they met certain criteria: they were written in English, focused on women with breast cancer, and used the Mini-MAC scale to examine psychological adjustment. After removing duplicates, 88 articles were screened for eligibility based on the inclusion criteria. Ultimately, 28 articles were included in the review. Most of these were cross-sectional studies. In addition to the Mini-MAC scale, authors frequently used complementary assessment tools such as the HADS scale, EORTC QLQ-C30, EORTC QLQ-BR23, and AIS.Among the studies that provided specific numerical data on coping strategies, women with breast cancer most commonly adopted fighting spirit and positive reevaluation strategies.</ns3:p>
