RESULTS OF EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES OF THE ROUGHNESS OF GEOMATS FILLED WITH CRUSHED STONE WITH A BINDER FILLER AND SOIL WITH SPROUTED RYEGRASS

Purpose: to conduct hydraulic studies of geomats of two anti-erosion coatings used for watercourse lining. Materials and methods. Hydraulic structures are exposed to water erosion, so the creation of protective coatings for their slopes is currently relevant. To prevent the negative effects of water erosion on earth slopes, a number of measures including strengthening the upper layer of the slope with anti-erosion clothing are carried out. Currently, there are a large number of anti-erosion materials, but with the development of technology, modern geosynthetic materials, which are considered reliable and durable materials, have appeared. Common geosynthetic materials are geomats, which have found their application in construction. A model facility for finding the hydraulic characteristics of the studied coatings is described and considered. Results. The research was conducted in the laboratory of the Department of Hydraulic Engineering Structures of the Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy on a hydraulic installation for testing coatings. The calculation formulas, on basis of which the roughness coefficients values were experimentally obtained, were analyzed. As a result of the research, the average values of roughness coefficients for two coatings were found. Conclusions. The conducted studies, devoted to the assessment of the roughness coefficient for the studied anti-erosion protective coatings, have shown the possibilities of using fasteners in practice. A comparison of the results of the roughness coefficients obtained as a result of the conducted studies has been performed, and the tendencies to overstate and understate the values have been noted. In the future, it seems advisable to conduct additional studies with the anti-erosion coatings considered above to determine the permissible non-erosive velocity.
