A Nick in Time Saves Nine: An Important Lesson Learned in a Case of Neonatal Bilateral Foot Gangrene
Limb gangrene is one of the rare entities in neonates, especially one presenting with bilateral symmetrical gangrene in the lower limbs. Only a few cases have been reported in the literature, which has been managed conservatively by fasciotomy and dressing. This report describes a neonate who developed sepsis with hypernatremic dehydration leading to gangrene of bilateral feet, which was successfully managed without elective amputation.
