You Make the Call
Can anyone ever judge another's life? In this work of philosophical short fiction, a judge in the afterlife grapples with the impossible task of determining eternal fates. Reviewing the complex, often contradictory lives of individuals – aided by comprehensive life recordings and case files – the judge confronts the limits of human understanding and the heavy burden of ultimate judgment. The process of judging others becomes its own agonizing hell that explores the moral ambiguity and the unsettling question of whether anyone is truly fit to judge.
