Technological Transformation of Medical Tourism in Russia as an Important Segment of the Service Sector Economy

This article examines the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to develop a client-oriented model for inbound medical tourism in Russia. It highlights the sector’s importance for economic growth and healthcare quality improvement, emphasizing the need to boost the export potential of medical services and develop supporting infrastructure. The study aims to create methodologies that leverage AI and ML to optimize medical tourism processes, including personalized selection criteria for “guest-patients.” The research analyzes the current medical tourism market, identifies key success factors, and designs algorithms to facilitate effective interactions between medical tourists and service providers. Methodologically, the study employs general and specialized approaches such as analysis, synthesis, big data techniques, machine learning applications, and intelligent decision support systems tailored for medical tourists. Advanced information processing methods are used to build adaptive models that meet individual tourist needs. The findings demonstrate that AI significantly improves service quality, enhances personalization, and increases customer satisfaction. A practical scenario illustrates potential implementation of the proposed AI-driven model at regional and international levels. In conclusion, the article stresses the importance of integrating AI and ML into medical tourism management and outlines prospects for future development, including geographical expansion and increased interstate cooperation in the field.
