The relevance of bioethics knowledge for Brazilian basic education
Abstract This article investigates whether the bioethics guidelines are incorporated into basic education, as established by Article 23 of the Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights. This is a qualitative, descriptive, documentary research, the sources of which are the Brazilian National Curriculum Guidelines for Basic Education, the National Education Plan, and the National Common Curricular Base. The term “bioethics” is mentioned only once; however, the other bioethical guidelines are part of school culture. The results are analyzed from the perspective of complexity theory and bioethics.
