Implementasi Penilaian Kesehatan Hutan di Kampus Itera, Lampung
Acacia (Acacia spp.) is one of the tree species that has high adaptability, so it is very suitable to be planted in the Itera environment, which has low fertility. Acacia are pretty widespread in the Itera campus environment, but are relatively rarely maintained. The location of the acacia observed was around the Itera Medical Centre. The location has an area of ± 1 Ha, which has high levels of human activity. This study aims to monitor forest health in the A. mangium area in the Itera using the Forest Health Monitoring (FHM) method. Monitoring of tree health is carried out in cluster plots. The assessment is based on location parameters, the type of tree damage, and its severity. Then, the Cluster plot Level Index (CLI) value is calculated. This value describes the damage index value at the cluster plot level. The study's results showed that 72% of the damage was found in the leaves. However, the highest level of severity occurred in the trunk due to open wounds, gummosis, and cancer. The CLI value obtained was 2.45, indicating that the akasia area in the Itera area falls into a moderate health category. The resulting recommendation is that maintenance actions are needed to support the vitality of the A. mangium stand.
