The influence of structural inhomogeneities on the face degradation of a body under thermal exposure
This paper deals with a mathematical model of the face degradation of a body that takes into account the effect of different types of the body internal structural inhomogeneities on the face degradation process. The model under consideration is based on the solution of the problem of the interference of degradation waves initiated by a system of structurally uniform areas to which the body under investigation was decomposed. A universal algorithm is presented for describing the degradation process of a 3D body of an arbitrary geometry. The algorithm provides the possibility of analyzing the degradation of 3D bodies of any reasonable configurations uniformly filled with material as well as the possibility of taking into account the effect of different types of structural inhomogeneities that can exist in the studied body. These structural inhomogeneities can be due to the internal structure of the body design or can be a result of the effect of external processes on the body surface. Inhomogeneities of the internal structure can be either in the form of discontinuities in the body geometry (for example in the form of cavities or baffles) or in the form of some inclusions affecting the local degradation rate of the body material regardless of the external parameters of the degradation process such as external pressure, for example. The paper presents the results of the application of the algorithm to the solution of some problems in 3D geometry. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the effect of heat-conducting elements with arbitrary geometry and physical characteristics and thermal schlieren on the degradation process of the studied body.
