A BUSCA PELA EMANCIPAÇÃO FEMININA EM MULHERES DE CORAGEM
The aim of this paper is to examine three narratives that make up Ruth Rocha's book Women of Courage, from the perspective that children's literature manifests in the critical, cultural and psychological formation of the reader, exploring the theme and social impact. By portraying female figures in different historical contexts, the author subtly criticizes patriarchal society in her work, as these tales dialogue with contemporary gender issues, fostering reflections on the importance of the second sex and its implications in the socio-cultural context of those societies addressed by the author. In this vein, this document will address gender, culture and society. Based on Friedan's studies, it will reflect on women and their role in society, and on Lajolo and Zilberman's approach to the presuppositions of children's literature. As a result of this research, which gathered material exposing the female struggle beyond children's literature, it was observed how this theme manifests itself in the literary context and, when approached in the classroom, can have a positive impact on the perception of the target audience, which is instigated to reflect within their experience on how the figure of women is expressed in the social fabric. In this way, the reader is shown the need to understand the reasons for the mishaps encountered in the female march, the imposition of standards and the segregation of knowledge over the centuries, but which can be remedied.
