Research on Automation Operation and Security of Electric Power Enterprises Based on Digital Twins
The challenges in the electric power industry with regard to operational efficiency and security are on the rise due to the complexity of power systems. Due to the current changes that are being experienced in the sector, there is a great challenge of developing sophisticated systems that incorporate automation as well as strong measures of security. The purpose of this research is to explore the use of digital twins in increasing automation and security in electric power companies. The overarching goal is to design a model that will lead to better operational effectiveness and manage the issues related to cybersecurity. The study also utilizes the digital twin model coupled with SCADA systems, IoT sensors, and smart meters to capture data in real time. Some of the features that have been integrated include predictive maintenance, load balancing and decision-making intelligent algorithms, and anomaly detection algorithms to achieve automation and security. The framework’s performance is assessed through simulation and performance metrics that compare operational performance and security impact with and without the incorporation of digital twins. The findings reveal that there has been an enhancement in performance, for instance, a 30% decrease in downtime, a 25% cut down on maintenance costs, and a 33.3% reduction in energy losses. Improvements in security come with a 60% decrease in the number of vulnerabilities identified and a 46.7% increase in the response time (RT). The application of digital twin technology shows significant advantages in terms of both effectiveness and security. Thus, the proposed framework can act as a scalable and flexible solution for electric power enterprises that allows them to tackle contemporary issues and increase the sustainability of the industry.
