The Effect of Green Bean Juice Intake on Haemoglobin Levels in Pregnant Women with Anaemia

Pregnancy anaemia can cause fetal death, miscarriage, congenital abnormalities, low birth weight, and infant anaemia. According to the WHO, the prevalence of anaemia in pregnancy in 2023 reached 37%. An alternative to increase haemoglobin is by consuming green bean extract, which is a micronutrient containing 6.7 mg/100 g of iron. This study aimed to determine the effect of green bean extract on increasing haemoglobin levels in anaemic pregnant women at the Kebaman Health Centre in 2023. This was a quantitative study with a pre-experimental design and a one-group pre-post-test approach. The population consisted of 22 anaemic pregnant women. Total sampling was used with observation sheets and standard operating procedures (SOPs) as instruments. The analysis used the Paired T-Test, and the study passed ethical review. The results from 22 respondents who received 500 ml of green bean extract over 14 days showed an average haemoglobin level of 9.7 g/dl before the intervention, which increased to an average of 10.1 g/dl after the intervention. Based on the results of the Paired T-Test statistical analysis, the p-value was 0.000, and the significance level was
