YAG:Ce Scintillator Detector for Nuclear Imagistic

A new detector with Cerium-doped yttrium garnet (YAG:Ce) scintillator crystal plate is reported. The dimensions of the crystal plate are 18 × 18 × 10 mm3. The scintillator is connected to a photodiode. We find for the energy resolution a value of 12% at 511 keV energy of Na22 and V48 positron radioactive sources.
