Sequential Explanatory Mixed Methods Approach to the Influence of Online Learning in Higher Education Based on Digital Technology Using Maxqda

This study reviews the implications of the shift in communication patterns on the effectiveness of learning that is usually done face-to-face, along with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the current learning pattern prioritizes digital technology. The approach in the study uses a mixed method. This study combines a quantitative approach with five variables using Smart PLS and a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews derived from the results of quantitative analysis with the implementation of Maxqda. Participants were 302 Informatics Engineering students from Unindra who experienced a transition in learning patterns during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. This study indicates that Compliance and Commitment in the use of digital technology show significant results. This mixed-approach study shows that the discipline and technology factors used by lecturers, students and online media admins contribute dominantly to the effectiveness of learning. This means that online learning is a scheduled discipline in the use of digital technology between lecturers, students and LMS admins.
