EFFECT OF LATERAL LENGTH AND OPERATING PRESSURE ON HYDRAULIC PERFORMANCE OF EMITTERS

In order to determine the ideal operating parameters that result in the most uniform water distribution, the goal of this study was to compare the performance of two distinct emitter types: pressure compensating emitters (PC) and non-pressure compensating emitters (Non-PC). Evaluations were conducted for the coefficient of variation (Cv), coefficient of uniformity (CU), application efficiency (Ea), and emission uniformity (Eu) at different lateral lengths (15 and 30 m) and operating pressure levels (50, 100, 150, and 200 kPa). It was found that operating pressures and lateral line length had an impact on the performance of both Non-PC and PC emitter types. The following conclusions were drawn from the findings: 1. For both emitters, the discharge rates rose as operating pressures rose. 2. For both types of emitters with a lateral length of 30 m, a high degree of water distribution uniformity was achieved at an operating pressure of 100 kPa, and for both types of emitters with a lateral length of 15 m, at an operating pressure of 200 kPa. 3. Under the same operating pressure settings, the distribution uniformity values for PC emitters surpass those for Non-PC emitters with a lateral length of 30 m, whereas the distribution uniformity values for Non-PC emitters are greater than those for PC emitters with a lateral length of 15 m.

Under the same operating pressure settings, the distribution uniformity values for PC emitters surpass those for Non-PC emitters with a lateral length of 30 m, whereas the distribution uniformity values for Non-PC emitters are greater than those for PC emitters with a lateral length of 15 m.
