Spectroscopic analysis in double perovskite Sr2MgWO6:Eu3+ phosphor for optoelectronic applications
A series of novel red-emitting Eu[Formula: see text] doped Sr 2 MgWO 6 phosphors were prepared via the conventional solid-state reaction (SSR) method. Sr 2 MgWO 6 :Eu[Formula: see text] phosphors crystallize in a cubic structure having space group [Formula: see text] The double perovskite compound Sr 2 MgWO 6 has found potential applications in ceramics, solar cells, ferroelectricity superconductors and optical materials. This material has attracted attention due to the physical properties it possesses, viz., structural stability and constancy against atmospheric conditions. Very limited work has been done so far to study the optical properties of Sr 2 MgWO 6 . We reported a strong red emission of Eu[Formula: see text] ion at 618[Formula: see text]nm ( 5 D[Formula: see text]F 2 ) for the excitation of 464[Formula: see text]nm ( 7 F[Formula: see text]D 2 ). Concentration quenching is observed when Eu[Formula: see text] is doped above 1.5% in Sr 2 MgWO 6 . The phase and color purity have maintained even with an increase in the concentration of dopant. The lifetime measurement and color temperature of Eu[Formula: see text]-doped Sr 2 MgWO 6 phosphor has a promising future in warm LED applications. We claim this is the first report of Sr 2 MgWO 6 :Eu[Formula: see text] in photoluminescence.
