RELIABILITY MODELING FOR ROUTING AND SWITCHING EQUIPMENT

Relevance This paper is devoted to the issue of assessing and calculating the reliability of products in the field of networking equipment, namely modeling and analysis using the mathematical theory of reliability and the Kolmogorov-Chapman law. Modern network devices have on its board an increasing number of different components, protocols, modules, blocks and an extensive list of functions that requires a very thorough study of each individual component and the entire device or system as a whole, as one of the most important factors is the reliability and stability of operation. Modeling of the developed products will allow to reduce possible costs, to identify and rework weak points, to increase reliability of both individual components and modules, and the device as a whole. Aim of research Review of methods followed by modeling of the device for routing and switching networks. Sample analysis of simulation results with subsequent implementation of improvements. Research methods In the course of the research were used data that are based on the characteristics of components and settings used in the developed device of the customer's company. Results Application of methods described in the article allowed to model and bring the developed device to the level of reliability, which satisfies the customer's requirements. All possible states of the device are shown in graph schemes, and the results of calculations of probabilistic characteristics are shown in tabular form.
