Professor Barbara Czarniawska – the accomplished researcher

<ns3:p>Purpose: The purpose of the study is to present the biography of Professor Barbara Czarniawska (1948-2024) and her scientific contributions.Methodology/approach: The paper is a biographical review that draws on an analysis of the scientific literature, institutional websites, bibliometric indicators, biographical data, and autobiographical narratives.Findings: The biography and scholarly contributions of Professor Barbara Czarniawska demonstrate that she was an accomplished researcher. Her work can serve as an inspiration for accounting researchers who conduct interdisciplinary research. Originality/value: This paper acquaints Polish accounting scholars with the legacy of the recently departed, internationally acknowledged Polish researcher, with the aim of encouraging them to pursue interdisciplinary research.</ns3:p>
