Análisis de la Discriminación por Edad en el Proceso de Reclutamiento de Personal en Empresas

The present research focused on age discrimination in the recruitment process within companies, due to the increasing inclusion of older individuals in the labor market. Despite their experience and skills, these workers faced significant barriers in their job search, being perceived as less adaptable to new technologies and having less energy compared to their younger counterparts. The study aimed to assess the prevalence and impact of age discrimination, focusing on how it affected candidates over the age of 40 as well as inexperienced young individuals. A quantitative/qualitative investigation was conducted through surveys administered to employees from various companies in Saltillo, Coahuila, to measure perceptions of discrimination and its influence on job performance as well as emotional well-being. The results revealed that a high percentage of respondents considered age discrimination a serious issue that required both governmental and corporate intervention. Older and younger workers felt that their opportunities were limited by stereotypes and prejudices, which affected their professional development and contributed to employee turnover in companies.
