The article examines the role and importance of the participatory budgeting mechanism, presents the practice of participatory budgeting in the Angarsk urban district of the Irkutsk region. The results of the implementation of participatory projects for 2024 in the Angarsk municipality are presented, and a conclusion is made about the need for further development of the practice of public participation in the budget process at the local level
