Modeling and Analysis of Nonlinear Magnetic Circuit of a Low-Rare-Earth Stator-Magnet Moving-Iron Transverse-Flux Linear Oscillating Motor
Less-rare-earth or non-rare-earth permanent-magnet synchronous motors have great significance and technological promise. In this presentation, a less-rare-earth stator-magnet moving-iron transverse-flux linear oscillatory machine (LSMTLOM) has been proposed for reciprocating drives, which utilizes a ferrite permanent magnet parallel magnetic circuit structure to reduce rare-earth resource consumption. To begin with, this presentation elaborated the topological structure and operating principle of LSMTLOM. In addition, it established an analytical model based on the equivalent magnetic circuit method. The results were then compared with the three-dimensional finite element analysis (3D FEA). Finally, a prototype was fabricated for experimental validation. In general, the equivalent magnetic network method can calculate the motor parameter more efficiently. The proposed less-rare-earth motor embodies the potential to promote decarbonization, combat climate change, reduce environmental pollution, and improve energy efficiency. The development and deployment of clean and efficient technologies are in line with the trend when the world is moving toward.
