Simulation Modeling of MMC Modules Based on a Semi-Implicit Latency Decoupling Method

The principle of semi-implicit delayed decoupling is utilized to conduct electromagnetic transient simulation modeling research on modular multilevel converter (MMC). This paper first introduces the concept of semi-implicit delayed decoupling, followed by the derivation of the decoupled model for MMC submodules. The application of this model is demonstrated for both half-bridge and full-bridge submodules. Finally, numerical examples are presented to validate the accuracy of the proposed method.

Abstract

The principle of semi-implicit delayed decoupling is utilized to conduct electromagnetic transient simulation modeling research on modular multilevel converter (MMC). This paper first introduces the concept of semi-implicit delayed decoupling, followed by the derivation of the decoupled model for MMC submodules. The application of this model is demonstrated for both half-bridge and full-bridge submodules. Finally, numerical examples are presented to validate the accuracy of the proposed method.
