Fountain Radar for Joint Near- to Medium-Range Sensing and Information Broadcasting
We combine rateless forward-error-correction schemes for broadcasting applications with multiple-input multiple-output radar for joint near- to medium-range sensing and information broadcasting, e.g. in automotive or future urban-air-mobility settings. To this end, we explore a combination of these codes with classical frequency-modulated continuous-wave radar signals. Simulation results confirm that short messages may be transferred reliably, even during relatively short rendezvous times of transmitter and receiver(s), while the radar performance is not affected at all.
