Study of a Dual-Frequency Up-Conversion Piezoelectric Energy Harvester
This study presents a dual-frequency up-conversion piezoelectric energy harvester (DFU-PEH) integrated with an elastic amplification mechanism, which is designed to efficiently convert low-frequency human motion into electrical energy through piezoelectric cantilever beams. The power output from the energy harvester is transferred to the energy management circuit and then connected to a low-power electronic device to power it, thus achieving a power supply solution that replaces batteries. Based on the Euler-Bernoulli equation using the Lagrange equation of the second type, the dynamic model of the piezoelectric beam is established, and the effect of the frequency up-conversion method in the energy harvesting structure is analyzed. COMSOL finite element simulation software is used for magnetostatic simulation to clarify magnetic flux density and field intensity distribution. The output performance of different configurations is evaluated in comparison experiments. In tests, the device with the best configuration could light up to 52 LEDs.
