A Theoretical Analysis of Polarimetric Street Condition Monitoring System Concepts to Enhance Detection Range at 76-81 GHz
This study presents a theoretical analysis aimed at extending the detection range of street condition monitoring systems using dual linearly polarized radar operating within the 76 to 81 GHz frequency band. Various methods such as increasing transmission power, antenna aperture, adjusting the main beam's elevation angle, and sensor's mounting height to enhance the detection range of the radar is investigated. Through detailed analysis and simulations, the impact of these techniques on detection capabilities has been evaluated. The results provide valuable insights for improving the detection range of the radar in autonomous vehicle systems for street type and condition classification.
