MATHEMATICAL MODELS OF CHIRAL METAMATERIAL WITH AND WITHOUT INDUCTIVE AND CAPACITIVE COUPLING BETWEEN MICROELEMENTS
The article is devoted to the generalized approach to the study of metamaterials with chirality created on the base of a uniform spatial set of randomly oriented conducting microelements of a mirror-asymmetric shape. It is shown that in the most general case when constructing a mathematical model based on chiral media material equations in the Post formalism, it is necessary to take into account the dispersion of the effective permittivity and the chirality parameter, as well as the heterogeneity of the metastructure as a whole. When describing the dispersion processes, a quasi-static approach based on an equivalent low-frequency circuit was used to find the microelement resonant frequency. The article also consideres the following approaches to creation of the chiral metamaterial mathematical model: taking into account the capacitive and inductive coupling between neighboring elements and instead of this. As an example, a particular mathematical model for a specific metamaterial is provided in the study and numerical simulation of the refection of a plane linearly polarized wave from chiral metamaterial planar layer of the located between two arbitrary media is carried out. In this case, the chiral metamaterial was described by a mathematical model presented earlier in the work. It was shown that the chiral metamaterial can transform the direction of the Umov-Poynting vector of an incident electromagnetic wave at certain microwave frequencies (frequency selectivity).
