Jak se tělo zraněné divy stává uměním. Transformativní spektákl Florentiny Holzinger

This study explores the transformative impact of Florentina Holzinger on normative conceptions of the body and social traditions through her provocative artistic practice. Based on an analysis of several key works, the research focuses primarily on the process of reshaping the body as a public object and on the use of bodily modifications and the limits of pain as tools of resistance, resilience, and embodied experience. In her work, Holzinger consistently challenges traditional notions of femininity, using the body as both canvas and battleground. Her performances dismantle the boundaries between spectator and performer, confronting audiences with their own discomfort in witnessing the body’s liminality and transformation as public spectacle. Through concrete examples, the study demonstrates how Holzinger’s exploration of bodily modifications and extreme corporeality functions as a radical gesture that disrupts social codes while also reflecting the depth of human experience.
