STUDY ON PREDICTION OF HEATING CHARACTERISTICS OF STANDARD FIRE FURNACE TEST FOR EVALUATION OF FIRE RESISTANCE
In a multipurpose furnace with a height of 3.5m, we heated a beam-shaped specimen of inorganic material, measured the heat incident, and compared with the results of a horizontal furnace to understand the effect of differences in furnace shape on the heat incident. The results indicated that in the multipurpose furnace, the heat incident on the bottom rose more than on the sides, and the heat incident on the bottom was excessive compared to the horizontal furnace. Furthermore, the calculated convective heat transfer coefficient of the specimen surface showed that the value increased over time, unlike in the horizontal furnace.
