Habitar el imaginario: embellecimiento de la ciudad
Today, we witness the increasing deterioration of our environment, turning it into a habitat ever more hostile to life. The beauty of our city fades with the passing of years. Let us recall the novel by Carlos Fuentes, The Most Transparent Region (1958), whose title once evoked the purity of the air in Mexico City. Today, with pollution poisoning every living being, little remains of that former clarity. Water is becoming scarcer and increasingly contaminated. In this context, I would like to speak of an elemental being: the undine, a dweller of the waters. Pristine, pure, and crystalline, she reminds us of the importance of caring for and preserving the beauty of the landscape-especially of water, which should be clean, limpid, and clear, just as she is.
