Water governance is at a pivotal moment due to environmental challenges that require transformative approaches to education and sustainability. This article explores how historical watercourses, essential for water management, can serve as laboratories for transformative education. Using an interdisciplinary approach that combines landscape leadership, disruptive design, and education for sustainable development, it addresses challenges such as urbanization, climate change, and the water crisis. The article highlights how living laboratories in university education can foster sustainability competencies while promoting an aesthetic and ethical understanding of water as living heritage, reconnecting students and communities with socio-ecological systems. This approach proposes regenerative solutions that transcend technical aspects, integrating cultural and environmental perspectives to foster a sustainable and equitable future.
