Self-efficacy pada Guru di Kawasan Perbatasan Kalimantan Utara
Teachers are one of the most important factors in the teaching and learning process at school. However, teachers are also a vulnerable group at risk of physical and psychological health problems. One of the most common psychological problems encountered by teachers is work-related stress. Work-related stress can be identified through teacher absenteeism, increased emotions, and illness. One way teachers can reduce work-related stress is by building self-efficacy, which is the belief in their ability to perform teaching tasks. This study aims to determine the level of self-efficacy among teachers in the border area of North Kalimantan. This is a quantitative descriptive study with a cross-sectional approach on teachers in Tarakan City, which is part of the border area. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The sample size consisted of 20 teachers. The research instrument was the Teacher Sense of Efficacy Scale (TSES), which comprises 12 items. The results of the study indicate that the 20 teachers have moderate self-efficacy, as evidenced by the highest scores in the ability to enhance student engagement.
