A Study on the Design Development Direction for the Improvement of Emotional Quality of Smart Eyewear based on User : Focused on Emotional Evaluation and Design Preferences
Recently, with the advancement of technology, the development of smart eyewear is becoming active worldwide. However, due to the characteristics of smart eyewear, such as its crude design and the perception that it is an electronic product, both general users and opticians have shown hesitation to use it. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the preference for design elements of general glasses applicable to smart eyewear, and to suggest a direction for design development by comparing the products of advanced companies that have already been released with the ideal products through an emotional quality evaluation. To this end, a survey using design preference and semantic differentiation was conducted targeting opticians with specialized knowledge of glasses, and the factors of ‘fashionability’, ‘simplicity’, and ‘stability’ were derived through factor analysis. The results of the analysis confirmed that there was a significant difference in design elements according to the design form of each product, and it was possible to identify the product that is closest to the ideal product that matches the latest trend among the products released so far. The design development direction derived through this study is expected to serve as a foundation for determining the direction in which smart eyewear should be developed and improved.
