A Personal History of CERN Particle Colliders (1972–2022)

In the following, I recall my personal memories of the conception, design, construction and operation of particle accelerators and particle colliders over the 40years while I was a staff member at CERN (1972-2012). This is not meant to be atechnical report, as is evidenced by the style of writing, but more to give an insight tothe historical beginnings and endings of some of the world’s most technically complexand expensive scientific instruments.
