FOREWORD
Thanks to the continuous advancement in CMOS device scaling, billions of transistors are integrated on a single VLSI chip. Moreover, further integration by multiple dies, like stacking and chiplet have been in use.Not only high-end server applications but also edge IoT devices require careful design for not only power and performance optimization but also reliability concern. In order to continue growth of VLSI, the development of new applications and architectures as well as new circuit and design technologies is essential. It is my great honor to announce the publication of this special section on solid-state circuit design. The section is devoted to a distinctive exploration of new techniques on integrated circuits. It contains two regular papers, one discusses an amplifier design for voltage sense in battery management system application and another introduces the analysis of intrinsic quantizer non-linearity in ADCs.
