Promising areas for the development of new technologies: Russia and the world (review for 2024)

The article shows that many leading countries of the world set as their goal in the short and medium term the development of advanced areas of the latest technologies, which today are one of the fundamental factors for the sustainable growth of the national economy and the social sphere, as well as maintaining the country's competitiveness in world markets. The purpose of the article is to identify what is common and special in this process, the directions, scope and priorities of Russia and individual countries of the world. The author found that these priorities vary quite significantly, most countries choose for themselves and are ready to promote limited areas of development of the latest technologies in the future, which often do not have a systemic nature and rather involve fragmented development. This limits the capabilities of individual countries, but their communities have additional opportunities as a result of international cooperation. Thus, we can talk about the division of labor in the field of the development of the latest technologies. At the same time, the author concludes that for the Russian Federation, which is currently subject to extremely harsh sanctions, including in the national scientific and technical segment, it is important to focus on the most promising areas capable of maximizing the national economy and security with the necessary technologies, ensuring technological sovereignty.
