PROSPECTS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF CLEAN ENERGY IN RUSSIA AND CHINA AS A DRIVER OF THE GROWTH OF THE «GREEN ECONOMY»

This study examines the prospects for the introduction of a green economy in Russia and China. Russia is one of the countries with inexpensive fossil energy sources that will last for many years, but it is necessary to develop renewable energy. Today, various scenarios for the development of renewable energy in our country are possible: from maintaining the niche position of this fuel and energy sector segment to one of the drivers of development. It can be said unequivocally that renewable energy sources have a high technically feasible potential in many Russian regions and their use is economically justified, which is analyzed in this study. In order to maintain a trend-setting energy transition in China, an action plan is needed in response to the rapid growth in electricity demand driven by the development of artificial intelligence. The transition of the electric power industry to low–carbon production has an impact on the implementation of China's «two-carbon» goals - to reach a peak in carbon emissions by 2030 and become carbon neutral by 2060 - and the qualitative development of the Chinese economy. The purpose of the study is to identify trends and prospects for the development of clean energy in Russia and China. The object of the research is the fuel and energy complex of Russia and China. The work uses general scientific methods of generalization, the transition from the concrete to the abstract.
