U.S. Energy Diversification: Mechanisms for Selecting New Production Regions and Strategies for Entering Global Markets
This article analyzes the economic prerequisites for the energy diversification of the United States following the 2015 lifting of the crude oil export ban. Special attention is given to the underlying reasons for the shift in export policy, including efforts to reduce logistics costs, strengthen the dollar-centered model of global trade, and minimize internal risks in the oil sector. The study examines key directions of export reorientation, the establishment of new production centers in Guyana and Brazil, and the development of infrastructure to ensure flexible external supply routes. Major risks associated with the implementation of the diversification strategy are identified, including geopolitical instability, intensified competition for low-cost resources, and sanctions-related challenges. It is concluded that U.S. energy policy amid the global transformation of the world economy requires continuous adaptation and enhancement of innovation capabilities to maintain the country's leading position in the international energy market.
