Spectral cues on cone of confusion localization
Spectral cue is one of the main acoustic cues for sound sources on the cone of confusion. In order to investigate the differences in spectral cues on the cone of confusion. The present study analyzed the spectral cues on the cone of confusion from the CIPIC database, and the variation trends of the frequencies and amplitudes of spectral peaks and notches on five cones of confusion. The results show that on the cone of confusion, the frequencies of the spectral peaks and notches is relatively consistent in the front-back mirror directions, typically differing by approximately 1-5 kHz near the elevation angle of 0°. Furthermore, the amplitude of the spectral notches and peaks located at the front is approximately 1-10 dB higher than that at the back. The comparison with existing literature results shows that the difference in frequencies has a certain correlation with the subject's front-back localization ability.
