A rebar surface defect identification method

As one of the important construction materials in buildings, the presence of defects on the surface of steel reinforcement can seriously affect the load-bearing capacity of the building. Therefore, it is crucial to identify the defects of steel bars accurately. This paper uses a triple coil to generate a significant volume uniform magnetic field as a detection source, which can quickly and easily detect a steel bar. The detection results are processed and analysed using Gaussian filtering to identify the length and location of defects rapidly. Experiments are carried out on defects of different lengths and depths, and the identification rate reaches 0.2%, which can effectively assess the defect parameters of the rebar.
