Exploring polarization diversity in Outdoor V2I MIMO-UWB environments
This paper studies how polarization diversity affects V2I in outdoor UWB MIMO systems. In this setup, we built a system in a parking lot. The experiment was divided into two groups: MIMO-VH and MIMO-VV. MIMO-VH represents that the transmitted signal is polarized vertically, and the signal received is horizontally polarized. For MIMO-VV, both sides are vertical. The RMS delay diffusion of MIMO-VV gradually increases at 1-9m, from 1ns to 11ns, and then decreases to 9ns at 10m. The RMS delay diffusion of MIMO-VH gradually increases at 1-7m, from 1 ns to 10 ns, and then drops to 7 ns at 10m. The RMS delay diffusion of MIMO-VH is slightly lower than that of MIMO-VV, indicating that MIMO-VH provides better performance in most cases. Polarization diversity also provides an advantage in path loss. The path loss coefficient n of MIMO-VH is 2.0690 and the standard deviation is 3.8175 dB.
