Numerical simulation study on the electrostatic precipitator for a 300MW power unit

This paper focuses on the electrostatic precipitator of a 300 MW coal-fired power plant unit in China. It employs fluid dynamics to construct a three-dimensional, four-electrostatic field numerical simulation model. The study then proceeds to conduct numerical simulations using the Fluent software. This paper investigates the effects of operating voltage, electric field wind speed and outlet pressure on dust removal efficiency. The findings from the simulation analysis demonstrate that the efficacy of dust removal escalates in tandem with the elevation of operating voltage Conversely, this efficacy is diminished by increments in both the electric field wind speed and the outlet pressure. Furthermore, the simulation data indicate that when the operating voltage is set at 45 kV, the electric field wind speed is maintained at 0.5 m/s and the outlet pressure is carefully controlled within the range of -3000 to -3500 Pa, the electrostatic precipitator (ESP) not only satisfies the stringent dust concentration emission standards but also achieves energy conservation. This optimization results in significant economic savings for the enterprise. By exploring these influencing factors, it can provide theoretical basis and foundation for the efficient operation as well as the optimization and transformation of electric precipitator in the future.
