Comparison of the Evolution of Functional Kinetic Status During the Hospitalization Period of Patients with Ischemic Stroke Subjected or not to Thrombolysis

Abstract Stroke can be defined as the rapid and sudden onset of clinical signs and symptoms. Therefore, it can be considered one of the main causes of disability in the country. Thus, the time window between the onset of symptoms and treatment directly influences prognosis and functionality. To evaluate the evolution of the degree of dependence and disability of patients diagnosed with thrombolyzed and non-thrombolyzed ischemic stroke (ISC) undergoing physiotherapy treatment during hospitalization. The assessments took place at three moments: after the first 24 hours of admission to the Emergency Room, 72 hours after the first assessment and before hospital discharge. The following scales were applied in these assessments: Medical Research Council (MRC), Glasgow Coma Scale, Hospital Mobility Scale (HMS), modified Rankin Scale and National Institute of Health Scale (NIHSS). Forty-two adults diagnosed with ischemic stroke, thrombolyzed or not, were included. The sample was heterogeneous, mostly composed of middle-aged individuals. When comparing the groups in the evaluations, there was no statistically significant difference in the Rankin scale (P>0.500) and in the HMS total score (P>0.679). However, when comparing the scores of the scales separating the groups, it is possible to find in the Rankin scale in thrombolyzed patients (TP) (P<0.001) and non-thrombolyzed patients (NTP) (P<0.001), while the HMS total score in TP (P<0.001) and NTP (P<0.004).
