PERBEDAAN HASIL PEMERIKSAAN HITUNG JUMLAH LEUKOSIT MENGGUNAKAN TABUNG K3EDTA DAN TABUNG MIKRO EDTA DENGAN VOLUME DARAH 0,5 ml
Introduction: The success of a hematology examination is influenced by the examination process, which includes three stages: pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic. The volume of blood in the collection process must match the volume indicated on the vacutainer tube. The accuracy of the EDTA to-blood volume ratio greatly affects the examination of leukocyte count. If the ratio of EDTA to blood is incorrect, it will produce inaccurate results. Objective: To determine the differences in the leukocyte count in blood samples collected in K3EDTA tubes with a volume of 0.5 ml versus Micro EDTA tubes with a volume of 0.5 ml. Method: This quantitative research uses cross-sectional methods with a pre-experimental research design, specifically a one shot case study. The research sampel was treated by separating a 0.5 ml sample into a K3EDTA tube and a 0.5 ml sample into a Micro EDTA tube. Results: Examination results from 44 samples showed that the everage leukocyte count in the K3EDTA tube with a blood volume of 0.5 ml was 6.2 (103/ul) and the average leukocyte count in the Micro EDTA tube was 6.3 (103/ul). Statistical testing using the Wilxocon test yielded a p-value of 0.006 (p < 0.05). Discussion: There is a significant difference in the leukocyte count examination results between the K3EDTA tube and the Micro EDTA tube with a blood volume of 0.5 ml. It is crucial to ensure that the blood volume in the vacutainer tube is correct to obtain accurate and reliable analysis results.
