Ритуал гадания зрительными образами в рассказах населения Псково-Печорского Обозерья и Великоречья

Based on the analysis of materials from the folklore and ethnographic archive of Pskov State University, collected in the territory of the Pskov-Pechora Obozerye and Velikorechye Regions during expeditions in 1978-2018, the results of the study of the structure and components of the actional side of fortune telling with visual images are presented. The ritual is shown to be revealing traces of mythical thinking characteristic of Pskov peasants. The functional differences between the different types of fortune telling that make up this group were identified.
