Techno-Economic Analysis of Green Hydrogen Production from Solar Electrolysis

Abstract: The rising global demand for sustainable energy solutions has propelled green hydrogen, particularly produced via solar electrolysis, into the spotlight. This study investigates the techno-economic feasibility of green hydrogen production through solar-powered electrolysis under various technological, environmental, and economic conditions. By employing regression analysis and predictive economic modeling, the analysis estimates levelized cost of hydrogen (LCOH), payback periods, and net present values (NPV) across multiple production scenarios. Results indicate a significant drop in LCOH under improved photovoltaic efficiency and reduced electrolyzer capital costs, making green hydrogen a potentially competitive alternative by 2030. This research provides a comprehensive framework for policymakers and investors to evaluate the viability and scalability of green hydrogen technology. Keywords: Green hydrogen, solar electrolysis, techno-economic analysis, levelized cost of hydrogen, renewable energy, predictive modeling, regression analysis
