New record of Celleporidae (Bryozoa) from the Konkan Coast of Maharashtra, India

In the present study, we have examined the colonies of family Celleporidae that were collected from ship hulls, oyster shells and sand of the intertidal zone along Konkan Coast of Maharashtra. Among the studied species, Celleporaria vashishtii is new and Celleporaria brunnea is reported for the first time from India. Celleporaria pilaefera and Celleporina costazii are already known from India but they are being reported for the first time from the studied area. The present study contributes to the knowledge of diversity of bryozoans generated in the recent years from the Arabian Sea.
