REVOLUTION OF DIGNITY AND ITS IMPACT ON UKRAINIAN IDENTITY
The Revolution of Dignity of 2013-2014 became a turning point in the modern history of Ukraine, determining not only the political course of the state, but also causing significant changes in public perceptions of statehood, patriotism and civic activism. It played a key role in the process of forming modern Ukrainian identity and became a catalyst for democratic transformations. In the context of ongoing geopolitical challenges and military aggression against Ukraine, the relevance of studying the Revolution of Dignity as a socio-cultural phenomenon acquires particular significance, since it remains a starting point for the development of national consciousness and state-building processes. The study aims to comprehensively analyze the prerequisites, ideological foundations and consequences of the Revolution of Dignity for the formation of modern Ukrainian identity. In particular, the socio-political factors that caused massive social changes are considered, the main value orientations of the revolutionary movement are determined, and the impact of the events of 2013-2014 on the change in the civic consciousness of Ukrainians is analyzed. The study uses an interdisciplinary approach that combines historical, sociological, political, and cultural analysis. Methods of comparative analysis, content analysis of documents and publications, as well as methods of qualitative sociology are used to identify changes in public sentiment and identity. The results of previous studies in the field of transformational processes of post-revolutionary society were also taken into account. The study showed that the Revolution of Dignity contributed to the strengthening of democratic values, an increase in the level of civic activity, and increased public control over power. It was determined that the main value orientations of the revolutionary movement were freedom, dignity, justice, national unity, and the European choice. The revolution also became an important factor in strengthening the national self-identification of Ukrainians and the formation of a new political culture. The results obtained can serve as a basis for further research into social changes in the post-revolutionary period, the analysis of mechanisms of civil mobilization and the impact of revolutionary events on state-building processes in Ukraine.
