Combustion reaction of layered zinc hydroxide salts intercalated with oxidant and fuel ions: A proof‐of‐concept study
Abstract Reducing the thermal decomposition temperature and obtaining well‐crystallized oxides are present challenges in the formation of nanoporous oxides via topotactic transformation of layered metal hydroxides. Herein, we successfully synthesized combustible layered zinc hydroxides by intercalating nitrate and lactate as oxidants and fuels. The combustible hydroxides exhibited a combustion reaction at 202°C, yielding nanoporous ZnO with good crystallinity.
