Thermal explosion synthesis of SiC nanopowders
Abstract The realization of low‐cost, large‐scale, and stable synthesis of high‐quality SiC nanopowders consistently face significant challenges. Here, we reported a thermal explosion synthesis method to prepare SiC nanopowders with solid‐phase reactants (Na 2 CO 3 and Si). This thermal explosion synthesis of SiC nanopowders is a gas‐phase reaction process. By tuning the Ar pressure to change the vapor pressure of the intermediate gaseous products in the reaction area, the controllable synthesis of SiC nanopowders with different particle sizes can be achieved. We prepared SiC nanopowders with the single β phase, good crystallinity, a primary particle size <20 nm and narrow size distribution. This research provides a viable and efficient route for synthesizing high‐quality SiC nanopowders.
