Comparative Study of Selected Anthropometric Measurements, Motor Fitness Components and Playing Ability Among the Football Players of North-east States of India

The main purpose of the present study was to find out the difference in the selected Anthropometric Measurements, Motor Fitness Components and Playing ability among the Football players of North-East States of India. For the purpose of the study 50 male football players of Intercollegiate level from D.C.P.E Amravati who belonged to North-East States of India were chosen randomly as subjects for this study. The age of the subjects was ranging from 18 to 25 years. Data were collected on anthropometric measurements, motor fitness components and playing ability of the football players, i.e. total body weight, body height, leg length, chest girth, cardio-vascular endurance, explosive leg strength, agility, speed, and dribbling, kicking for accuracy. To find out the difference in the selected variable among the north east states of India in different states of players one way analysis of variance (ANOVA) statistical technique was employed. While F-ratio showed significance difference, Least Significant Difference (LSD) post-hoc test was applied to determine paired mean difference among the selected states. No significant difference was found in the selected variables among the players of five North-East States of India.
