EFEKTIVITAS EMOTION FOCUS COPING DALAM MENGURANGI DEPRESI, KECEMASAN, DAN STRES PADA NARAPIDANA MINIM KUNJUNGAN

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Emotion-Focused Coping (EFC) techniques through meditation in reducing levels of depression, anxiety, and stress among inmates who rarely receive visits. The research was conducted on 20 inmates at the Jakarta Narcotics Prison who had the highest scores on the DASS-21 pre-test. The intervention, in the form of a meditation program, was conducted over six sessions within two weeks. The instrument used was the DASS-21, and the data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test. The results showed a significant difference between the pre-test score of 56.60 and the post-test score of 33.60 (p = 0.000), with an average decrease of 23 points. This demonstrates that meditation as a form of Emotion-Focused Coping is effective in reducing negative psychological symptoms in inmates. These findings suggest the importance of emotion-based psychological interventions in correctional settings to improve the mental health of inmates experiencing social isolation.
